I first started out with a Bachelor's in Marketing from Bradley University. I worked the "corporate world" for over ten years, but then decided to pursue my dream to become a teacher. My mom was an Art teacher, so I always felt that draw to become an educator. So, I went back to school I have my Master’s in Education from DePaul University.
I have been a teacher at Prairie Oak for 12 years. This is my first year in first grade, I previously taught fifth grade. I'm still adjusting to working with the "little ones" but I'm having a great time. I love their enthusiasm for learning, and I see them growing and learning new things every day.
I have lived in the Midwest for most of my life -- first the Quad Cities until I graduated college, and then I moved to Chicago. I live "downtown" and love walking everywhere -- even to pick up groceries and run errands.
I’m a bit of a foodie. I also love to read, cook gluten-free recipes, and watch movies.
